About Sue

Resources

Like humans, canines benefit from the trained touch of a massage therapist. They experience relief from pain and anxiety, and improved flexibility, circulation, and immune system function.

While dogs are unable to verbalize where they hurt, they do provide clues through their actions and attitudes as to what they are experiencing. Working with a detailed history provided by the owner and veterinarian, when necessary, Sue will determine the best course of treatment for the individual pet.

While massage is NOT a replacement for the care of a qualified veterinarian, it is an excellent alternative modality that compliments the work of your veterinarian and the care you give your animal. The course of massage therapy necessary for improvement is determined by a number of factors, including the health of the dog and the goal of the massage. Each dog receives his or her own special plan.

  •      Older dogs benefit from 1 – 2 maintenance massages per month.
  •      Dogs recovering from injury may require massages more frequently.
  •      Dogs preparing for and resting from competition have their own special needs.

Early Detection

Regular massage allows for the discovery of the onset of potential health problems.

A change in skin or hair quality noted through touch and observation and in conjunction with observed behaviors and actions may help identify potential health issues.
